Build Resilience Humanitarian Organization (BRHO) is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious humanitarian organization committed to supporting communities affected by conflict, disasters, and poverty.
Established in Nigeria, BRHO is driven by a vision of building resilient communities through humanitarian assistance, development programming, and capacity strengthening.
We believe that through timely intervention, empowerment, and sustainable development, vulnerable populations can recover, rebuild, and thrive even in the face of adversity.
At BRHO, we are guided by the core principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, independence, and a strong commitment to accountability and local leadership.
At BRHO, we design and deliver humanitarian and development programs that respond to urgent needs while building long-term community resilience. Our key areas of focus include:
Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM):
We work to ensure that displaced populations in camps and informal settlements have access to coordinated services, protection, and safe, dignified living environments.
Shelter and Settlements:
We provide emergency shelter kits, transitional housing solutions, and technical support to families displaced by conflict, natural disasters, and climate shocks.
Non-Food Items (NFIs) Support:
We distribute essential non-food items such as hygiene kits, cooking utensils, bedding, and clothing to support vulnerable families in crisis.
Protection and Safeguarding:
We conduct protection monitoring, case management, and advocacy to uphold the rights and dignity of displaced and conflict-affected communities.
Livelihoods and Resilience Building:
We empower communities through skills training, small business support, and climate-resilient agriculture initiatives to promote self-reliance.
Education in Emergencies:
We establish safe learning spaces and support access to quality education for displaced and marginalized children.
Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR):
We promote sustainable environmental practices and build community resilience against floods, droughts, and other disasters.
BRHO currently operates across several conflict-affected and vulnerable regions, focusing primarily in Nigeria and expanding into neighboring countries.
Nigeria:
Borno State (Maiduguri, Jere, Bama, Banki, Kala-Balge, Mobbar, Ngala, Monguno)
Adamawa, Yobe, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States
Sudan (Upcoming Operations):
Areas to be determined in consultation with the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) based on humanitarian needs assessments.
Our work prioritizes internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, returnees, and host communities living in crisis-affected regions.
We provide rapid, life-saving assistance through shelter, non-food items (NFIs), and protection services during crises, helping communities recover and rebuild.
We promote climate resilience by introducing sustainable practices, disaster risk reduction strategies, and environmental restoration to mitigate the effects of climate-related disasters.
We assist communities transitioning from crisis to stability by rebuilding infrastructure, restoring services, and offering livelihood opportunities to promote long-term self-reliance.
At BRHO, we provide life-saving and life-sustaining support to vulnerable communities through emergency relief, protection services, education, livelihoods, and advocacy. We work closely with local actors and affected populations to ensure our interventions are timely, inclusive, and responsive to real needs empowering communities to recover, rebuild, and thrive.
